Aries unlocked his door, opened it, and slammed it shut. He hardly ever had the chance to just chill out at home but here he was and Aries already hated it. It didn't help that he had come here straight after his meeting with the Master. he had yet to kill something like he said he was.
He went straight to the couch in his living room, took off all his weapons and cloak and crashed. Aries did not feel like doing anything today and if he did, he was going to end up killing someone. But as soon as he closed his eyes, he heard footsteps coming up to his door. "Whoever you are, know that you'll get a dagger thrown right between your eyes the moment I see you face!!" Aries meant it too, well, depending on who it was anyway. He was not in the moos for games. |

Dani had left the court and started walking, and didn't bother looking back, she got rides from anyone and everyone she could, she put her best look of being lost and scared and needing help, but truth was she didn't need help from anyone, but she needed away from court with everyone still talking about her mistake. She finally got away from civilization, and was thankful to be alone, in the peace and quiet not having everyone telling her stuff.
Maybe what she needed was to take a detour from life, maybe if she spent time on her own, she would be able to go back and be better at her soon to be job. Her mistake might just put her working at Court filing paperwork, or something equally lame. She knew that when she got back she would be in big trouble about leaving court with out someone going with her. Everyone wanted Dani to have someone follow her where she went if she left court. She could do just fine.
She heard someone say something, she was to wrapped up in her thoughts she didn't realize she walked onto someone porch. "Oh dear" she said to herself. "Im sorry" she said though the door, "i didn't realize i was on someone's porch." She really didn't know she had walked onto someone's property.

Grabbing two of his daggers, Aries was off the couch in seconds and ready to attack. The footsteps sounded light, either it was a woman or a highly trained person. He would rather the person be the first option then the second but he actually wanted a bit of fun. When the assassin heard the voice, he put the daggers down and threw his cloak on.
"Go away! You have no business here." Aries said angrily, trying to scare the girl off. He was suprised that the girl was even still here but he guessed that she hadn't heard his threat through the door. Which meant she probably couldn't hear him now. Sighing, he pulled his hood over his head and opened the door. I travel a lot, so I'm not usually home. I would like to enjoy the time I have to relax." Aries was careful to make his voice dangerous but not angry but he had started talking before he saw the girl. Dhampir!! |

Dani jumped when someone opened the door, she didn't expect anyone to actually answer the door, and she didn't even know who would even want to live all the way out here, in this place. The only people she might know of would be a Strigoi, Oh dear, she happened to stumble upon a Stigois house. It was so not her day. She looked up at the man, who was towering over her. She hadn't made it past the top step, one foot was on it the other was on the actually porch.
"i'm sorry, im leaving" she said. She so wasn't prepared to deal with a Strigoi at all. She in fact was surprised and she wanted to get out of there as fast as she could. "I'm leaving" she said turning and trying to run, but forgetting she was on steps. She fell down the steps. "Seriously, Washington twice, now here." She got up and dusted herself off. "Oh dear" she said again as she dared to turn around and look up at the man.

The Strigoi sighed, "Wait, why don't you come in? I won't hurt you in any way." His voice had lost it's dangerous tone, he was never going to hurt this girl. "Do you want something to drink or eat? You obviously came a long ways to find this place."
Aries knew the girl was frightened and scared. He had wanted to scare her but now that he did, Aries realized that he didn't really want the girl frightened. He had no clue why. What was going on with him? All of this was starting to freak him out, maybe he should talk to Tenshi about it. Aries opened to door, revealing a very normal looking inside. The only thing not normal was the bare basement, which was often used for purposes this girl had no business knowing. Aries only used it when the other assassins were crashing at his place and Aries himself never participated. But the girl wasn't going to see his basement, so it didn;t really matter at all. Unless she went snooping which would be a very bad idea for her. "Come on, it's ok. I will never hurt you." |

Dani looked at the man, with new eyes, when he said he wouldn't hurt her. She wasn't so sure about that, but she didn't want to leave just let, by checking her watch it was almost night fall, and she preferred not to be on the streets at night, just because of her last few encounters with strigoi, and even with Tenshi. She was mad and angry, but she was mad or angry with anyone but herself. She couldn't figure out why she was having this much problems. She never had this many problems before. Some people told her to take the summer off, but if she did that then she would be loosing valuable training time, and she wouldn't be the head of her class anymore. She couldn't do that, she had to be the great, other wise she would end up with some lesser Moroi, and she would be alone, and have to work twice as hard, and if she lost the moroi she would take it very personally, and probably quit her job.
"Thank you" she said to him as she walked in side. "Just a question, you dont have to answer it, but why wont you hurt me" she asked him and looked at him. She wasn't sure she had ever met a strigoi who wouldn't hurt a Dhampir if they had the chance, or a moroi. She wasn't sure as to why he wouldn't hurt her, and if he didn't hurt her, then were strigoi changing as Dhamiprs knew it, and did that mean everything would change. She was so full of questions, but she didn't think he held the answers to any of it.

Aries was actually very suprised when the girl came inside. She didn't put up a fight or anything, that was wierd. Was he going soft now? Naw, he was an assassin after all, this girl had just caught him on one of his breaks. He bowed slightly, giving her a small smile as he shut the door. He scanned the area though, if the guardians had found his personal escape house, then there was going to be serious trouble.
"I don't hurt women, at all. Unless...well you do not need to know that." The only time he even harmed women or children was when he was ordered to assassinate one or an entire family. Those were hard though, Aries usually took at least a couple weeks off whenever those happened.
Aries did not put his hood down though and went over to the couch to pick up his weapons. With Strigoi speed, he went upstairs and placed them on his bed before coming back down. "Feel free to sit down, do you want anything to drink or eat?" The fridge was actually stocked with human food for, uh, when they had people down in the basement. |

Dani walked into the house and sat down on a chair away from the strigoi. She wasn't to sure on him, she didn't understand much about him. She was being as cautious as she could be, with out injuring herself. She looked at him then around the room. 'It's a nice living space, for a strigoi' Dani thought to herself, she was intrigued by the man, and by why he lived so far away, and why she seemed to be tripping a lot the past few months.
Dani shook her head and said "No im fine thank you" when he offered her food or drink. She wasn't sure it was safe, and if it was alright for her to take some. She didn't want to be a bother for the Strigoi, even though it was very rare for one to be this open with a Dhampir before. "I really didn't mean to intrude on your home" she said to him with a politeness that she had been taught by her mother. "No one followed me i know that for sure" she said to him. She was sure that he already knew that no one had followed her to his home, but she felt the need to say something. There was an awkward silence between them, but that was what one would get if put in this situation, and there was no fighting going on.

Aries could smell her very clearly, she wasn't afraid exactly but you could tell that she wasn't very comfortable either. Well what did you except? "What is your name? How is your training going?" An almost wistful expression came to his face but it didn't really show because Strigoi could barely reveal anything from their faces. But a slow sadness crept into his eyes before he made his entire face blank.
The assassin liked what he did for the simple fact that it kind of reminded him of guardian duty. The major difference that could never change though was that Aries was no longer protecting anyone. He knew what he did was pure murder but it was the closest he could get to his old life. |

Dani looked at him and wondered why a strigoi would live all the way out here and in Pennsylvania. He wasn't all that close to court, but still why live in the same place where court it. She didn't want to upset him so she didn't bother asking, she would answer his questions, but she didn't want to make him angry with her, so she wasn't going to ask. She would if he asked her to, but otherwise she wasn't. She was just curious to see an actually strigoi home. She often heard how they are rundown and ugly, but his home was peaceful and beautiful in a weird non strigoi way.
"I'm Dani" she said to him, she wasn't stupid she wasn't going to use her last name, because most strigoi would use her last name to find others in her family, or try and get money from her family. She wouldn't give them that satisfaction. "Well as of lately i suck, i used to be in the top 5 in my class." she said to him. "I can't figure out why i suck, it started when i was attacked in washington, but weeks later i still suck. Its so frustrating." she said to him, but she wasn't sure why she even told him that.

Aries chuckled softly before coming to an abrupt halt, "You can ask me questions if you wish. I can see them burning all over your face. You are curious, that is a good thing." He sat down an the cough accross from Dani, careful not to get too close. He had already scared her enough for one day. "Pleased to meet you Dani. I'm David."
The Strigoi listened, "What did you do wrong? Do you remember what those Strigoi looked like?" If they were not dead already, Aries would make sure they were by the time he left for his next mission. |

Dani looked at the strigoi and asked "Why do you live so close to court, or well in the same state as court" she looked at him with wonder. "And why wont you hurt me, most strigoi would jump to hurt Dhampir numbers." She said to him, and didn't know much else. "I killed a David in Washington i was at a dinner and he attacked and i killed him" she said to him, she wasn't proud of it, she was more or less lucky to be alive, and that he was only newly turned, and he wasn't as old as the David in front of her.
"I didn't do anything wrong just a stupid rock, tripped me, and i fell running at a high speed and it caught me and bit me." she informed him. "Luckily Tenshi was with me, and he took care of them for me, while i passed out." she wasn't to proud of that moment either. "Then he took me to some doctor, and he fixed me up, and then we went out to eat and was attacked again." she said to him, she just wanted a normal life, one that wasn't so complicated.

Aries smiled, fangs hidden, "This was my house before I was turned." His face went expressionless as he continued, "Well, it was the house of the Moroi I was appointed to guard. I am not like most Strigoi. I am an assassin and I follow orders, those are the only times I kill. Plus, you are female and you do not have a stake, so you are not a threat." He knew that would get under her skin but it was the truth. He had had guardian training and knew very well that Dani could not hurt him.
"A Guardian never lets her guard down. That is how you become Strigoi...unless you get outnumbered like I was. Never get in that situation, understood?" Aries ordered, sounding more like a instructor then a Strigoi. He listened to the rest of Dani's story and his eyes widened a bit when he heard Tenshi's name. "Interesting...seems to me like you just had bad luck that day. But you were extremely lucky, do not let it happen again. Practice your balance constantly, start moving with fluid movements. It will be hard at first but once your body gets used to it, you will move fast and strike hard with no fear of your feet moving of thier own accord."
Aries really looked at her now, he leaned forward to study her and memorize her face and smell. But this was suddenly very serious, "What was Tenshi doing there?" |

Dani listened to what David had to say, she was surprised at his asnwers. He wouldn't hurt her because she didn't have a stake, and because she was a female. She took that as an insult, because her mother wanted a Dhampir boy, and not a girl, so she was used to it but what she couldn't understand was why guys preferred to kick other guys butts around. That was something that she couldn't understand. She preferred to fight other guys because they were taller, and stronger, and it took more out of her to fight them. Most strigoi were taller and stronger and faster then she was, so it was giving her an upper hand by fighting the male Dhampirs.
Dani nodded at him, she didn't want to be in any situation where she was out numbered. She didn't like to not have the upper hand, but she knew better then to go looking for a fight where one wasn't. The strigoi's attacked first, or well Tenshi did, but knowing full well that they would attack if Tenshi and Dani didn't. Dani listened to what the strigoi had to say, she wondered for a moment as to why the strigoi was telling her how to be more balanced and telling her what her teachers had told her once upon a time. Maybe it was true, maybe Dani was losing her balance, and she needed to work on it some more. She would definitely try to get her balance back.
"Tenshi he is my friend, and i ran into him at the mall where i was supposed to be buying a dress for some party my mom wanted me to go to, and i seen him and he seen the strigoi i came up with the plan to get him out of the mall, because i didn't want to see humans hurt, so i had Tenshi wait outside in an alley and had the strigoi chase me, i was a good 20 paces in front of him, if it wasn't for me tripping i would have been safe." Dani said to the strigoi, she wasn't sure why she was telling him all of this, it wasn't like it was the brightest plan of all times, hell it was probably the stupidest one.

Aries listened to Dani, he smiled slightly as the Strigoi sense of humor took over. It amused him now that she was mad at what he had said when usually he would have told the girl to suck it up and challenge her to show him differently. But he was Strigoi...not a guardian, not anymore.
You know what, screw it, he was going against the Master anyways. He would wait until the girl finished talking before he started. "There were Strigoi inside a mall? Never mind." All of a sudden the anger came rushing back, his eyes narrowed and he hissed, "Never asume you are safe when a Strigoi is pursuing you! NEVER!!! Do you understand!?" Aries was not going to allow this girl to start making stupid mistakes, what the heck were the guardians teaching them nowadays?? Were they really getting that desperate for new guardians that they rush the training?
The anger faded and Aries stood up, opened the drawer of the stand he had next to the couch. He pulled out two daggers, keeping one for himself and tossed the other to Dani. "On you feet! Let's see how your balance really is. I will not hurt you, no matter what you do me." |
