Drinking the night away(Open)

Summer time. Keeley's favorite time of year. She could bust out her plaid school girl skirts after months of hiding them away in the back of her closet. Time for her to have some fun for a change and be less focused on school and homework.
Yes, Keeley was a book worm but that didnt mean she didnt know how to have fun. On the contrary. Some might say she had too much fun sometimes but hey, if they didnt like it they didnt have to look at her. Bon Jovi said it best 'its my life, its now or never. I aint gonna live forever. I just wanna live while im alive.'

Well this was her life and she was going to live it while she's young enough to enjoy it.

The young blond smiled a bit as she walked into one of the larger casinos, dressed in a Nirvana fitted tee and a red plaid mini skirt.(click) The skirt was short enough that it caught the attention of a few people she'd walked by, mostly guys in their early twenties. She flashed them a flawlessly white smile, though careful to hide her fangs.
slowly she made her way to the bar, looking at the bartender sweetly "Vodka on the rocks, please." she ordered for herself as she settled down in her seat...she had been hoping that this would be the one place she wouldnt run into anyone from school, her whole reason for coming to vegas was that she hoped no one else would think to come here...now she was hoping against hope that she'd been right in thinking that.

Dani didn't have an real purpose to being in Vegas, well maybe she did. She told her parents that she was meeting up with a friend from school down there, she really wasn't she just wanted to get away from her parents and the stupid parties she was dragged to. She really hoped that she didn't run into anyone she knew, because it would be a total nightmare. Dani was to focused on other things to gamble or drink. She was just glad to be out and away from her parents. Dani's blond hair was curled to perfection, or well almost perfection, a few stray hairs that wouldn't stay in position, but what could she do. She wasn't about to waste a whole bottle of Hair spray on her hair for a tiny bit of hair.

Dani walked down to the bar area, and ordered a coke, nothing in it just a can of coke, soda. That's all she drank, but she went to listen to the music. She didn't looked for anyone, but she found a table to sit at she was alone. A few Moroi guys tried to talk to her but she wasn't interested in them, she wasn't interested in hooking up with anyone, well except maybe a Dhampir, just because she knew that she could still make it though the school without incident. Most Dhampir men wanted Moroi women, so Dani wasn't looking for anything like that at the present moment.

Dani crossed her legs, she was in a black pleated skirt, with a black and white striped tank top with a pair of black vans on her feet. She had no show black socks on, she wasn't worried about what people saw in her, she was just glad to have been out of the house and away from her mother who was a total pain in the butt.

There were a few things Keeley refused to do. Travel with her parents, travel with a friend and travel with her guardian. Somehow she always managed to sneak passed Riley. For a guardian he wasnt very tuned in to the world around him, it was a surprise he'd lived to be forty. He always lost her everywhere they went. They could go to the park and she'd manage to sneak away. It usually ended in an hour long conversation between her and her father which went something like this 'I dont want you getting hurt Keeley. Dont sneak off anymore' and her response would be a silent nod and a smile before saying 'Okay daddy, I promise not to sneak off'...it was a promise she obviously had not kept otherwise she wouldnt be here tonight without her temporary guardian.

Her icy blue eyes looked up as someone approached the bar and ordered a soda. No rum mixed in with it. It was pathetic to say the least but Keeley assumed the girl simply could not hold her liquor. Upon further inspection of the person she saw it was someone she knew, though barely. She'd only ever seen her in the halls of the academy once or twice but never truly spoke to her.

As she racked her brain for the girls name she looked at the table she'd walked to and got up quickly to follow, putting a hand on her hip as she watched the guys that tried to talk to her "I dont think she's interested, it'd be best to back off for now." she spoke, grinning a bit before looking at the girl "Can I sit?"

Dani took another drink of her soda, when she heard the sound of steps, of course it was more Moroi dunk guys, how many times did she have to tell them no she wasn't interested in them, or anything else they had to offer her. They walked away but more just showed up, and it wasn't always just Moroi some human men came over and talked to her, tried to get her to go out with them. She called each of them a few choice names and that got ride of them long enough for her to finish her soda, and more came back.

Dani was about to tell them leave her alone, when a new voice chimed in, it was a girl, one of which she didn't know. Dani's eyes fell upon a Moroi girl who appeared to be younger then she was. Dani's eyes started to wonder looking for the girl's guardian, or and even Strigoi, sometimes Dani couldn't get her brain to come out of protection mode, it was hard for her to do that, with so many Strigoi lurking around every corner anymore. "Oh yes go ahead." Dani said with a smile on her face.

Dani tried to get her mind out of protection detail, it was going to be tough for her to do so, but she was definitely trying, she hated it always being on her guard, never really having fun. Dani's eyes fell upon the girl again after looking around the room, she knew this girl from somewhere, but couldn't place it. "I'm Dani Ivashkov" she said with a smile on fer face. She wasn't a Moroi, and the girl could probably tell by the way she filled the clothes better then a Moroi would, and because she didn't look like a Moroi.

Keeley could see it in the girls eyes, the look of worry. Every guardian had that look, even more so when they spotted a lone moroi. It was a rare thing for a moroi to be without their guardian...even so, Keeley wasnt exactly bothered by this. She was happiest when she was by herself. She found it was easier to think and focus on her music where she didnt have a six foot five inch guardian breathing down her neck "If your looking for my guardian, i've ditched him." she explained with a very small smile.

Wehn told she could sit, Keeley placed her drink on the table and took a seat across from the other blond.

The girl introduced herself as Dani. Dani Ivashkov and Keeley smiled politely, finding it odd that a guardian would have the name of a royal. Could it be possible that this girl, Dani was royal and a dhampir? The thought was strange to say the least but Keeley wouldnt question it "Im Keeley Zeklos...its nice to meet you." she smiled a sweet and polite smile as she took a sip of her drink.
She wondered what this girl, this guardian would have to say about a royal moroi ditching their guardian. Would Dani go into a huge speech about how dangerous it was? Would Dani go off and find her guardian and tell him to be more careful? Or be cool and let it slide? After all, Keeley was only trying to have fun and be well, normal. Normal, everyday people dont usually have huge bodyguards.

Dani smiled and said "Your a clever one to ditch a guardian, its hard" she wondered Keeley did it. It was no small feat to ditch a full guardian, Dani tried many of times, when she was younger, out with her parents. She always found Dani and brought her back, because her mother went into hysterics when she disappeared for more than 5 minutes, which at the time was about how long it took Dani to go to the bathroom. She wasn't much older than 6 years old. Dani was always trying to leave to go hang out with other people other then her mom, with out her mom knowing it. Her mom hated it.

Dani was ready to go into a huge speech and tell her that she shouldn't run off without her guardian, but she change her mind, people are only young once, so she would let it go, but of course she would be on the looked out for Strigoi. She didn't know how fast the girl could run, of if she could run in her clothes. Dani knew she could run in what she had on, after the incident in Washington, she knew to be on her guard. Sometimes she still missed the bite, she really missed it in the presence of Moroi, because they had endorphin's that ran in their bite too. She was just glad that Tenshi had been there to save her. She didn't like needed to be saved, but that was a time when she knew she wasn't getting out of that alive, she would have changed or she would have been dead. "It's nice to meet you Ms. Zeklos" she said being a little bite formal, but she would changed that, eventually, or unless the girl told her to call her Keeley. Dani was in training, she knew how to act around Moroi, her mother made sure of that one.

"I know what your thinking, how can a Dhampir have a royal last name" Dani said with a smile on her face. "Well i have my mom's last name. She was proud to carry, my fathers child, a guardian, her guardian in fact." she continued on with her story, it wasn't a very long one, but it did explain a lot. "Well when i was born my mother said that i would have her last name to show what a great contribution she was doing." Dani Rolled her eyes at that, her mother just wanted to be the only one in her friends that had a Dhampir child. "She was hoping for a boy, but she got me." she finished with a smile.

"Ditching Ryan is not hard. I do it all the time. When he sleeps, he's out like a light and when he's awake well...lets just say im surprised he's even lived to be forty years old. Dude isnt very cautious of his surroundings." Keeley explained, grinning lightly "Besides, its hard to have fun and live my life with a giant breathing down my neck." she shrugged a shoulder lightly, taking a sip of her drink.

Keeley was sure that once her father found out she'd slipped away from her guardian again, he'd give her an hour long lecture on the dangers of it all but for right now, she couldnt be bothered. Was it really that bad to want to have fun?

When spoken to as Ms. Zeklos, Keeley cringed "Dude, seriously...call me Keeley. I hate all that 'be polite to royals' crap. Its so lame and absolutely stupid. Like, okay im a moroi and yeah, im royal big friggen' whoop...No offense to you or anything but I hate people being nice to me just because of my last name."

Other than being adopted into the Zeklos family, Keeley was different from most Moroi, for instance she was just a tiny bit more um...filled out in certain areas. Not to the point that she resembled a female dhampir in any way but she was fair chested and able to fill out clothes a bit better than she should have been but she considered that to be a blessing. It just made things look SO much better. Like the skin tight shirt she was wearing, if her chest was slightly bigger than that of an average moroi, she'd look stupid.

Huh, well thats very cool. And to be honest, I shouldnt have the last name Zeklos, I was um, I was adopted when I was still a baby. I was only a few weeks old when my dad adopted me. My real last name is Udinov but we had it changed legally." she explained, smiling happily "Do you want another soda? Something to eat? my treat."

Dani smiled at her and said "Why is he even a guardian in the first place?" she asked but she wasn't really looking for an answer because she knew why, but then why would he be placed on protection detail to the Zeklos, is what she didn't understand. She knew what it was like to be followed by a 6 foot guy, always watching her, she had someone watching out for her until she was 11 or 12 years old. When her father decided it wasn't necessary for her to be watched. She was glad when she could finally be on her own when she went places, but she was never on her own because her mother still sent someone to watch out for her. Her mother still did that every once in a while. She did so more often after she found out about what happened, in Washington.

Dani smiled and said "Ok Keeley it is then" Dani wasn't like so engrossed in being a guardian, she actually listened to the girl, and what she had to say, like any normal teenager would. She listened to how she was adopted, how she got the last name Zeklos. Dani smiled and nodded and listened, it was a really interesting tale she was telling about her. Dani wasn't that interesting, but she liked to think she was interesting enough.

"Oh no i'm fine, but thank you" She said politely. She didn't want to drink a lot because soda went right though her if she had to many, so she spaced them out every time she drank soda. Dani was good at talking with out other people seeing her watch the surrounds. She smiled and said "Do you need more to drink" she asked looking at her cup. "What brings you to Vegas?" she asked her, if she didn't want to answer that was fine by her, she thought she would make small talk.

"Well, despite being clueless and sometimes careless, he's a very good fighter, strong too and he's a quick thinker...like right now for instance, im sure he's already got together a search party to look for me. I'll be yelled at by my father for being so wreckless later." Keelyey smiled a bit, finding it easy to talk to this girl. Usually she was shy around people she'd never met before. Keeley figured it had something to do with the alcohol she had in her system. Nothing said dangerous like a fire user under the influence.

Keeley frowned for a brief moment as she finished talking baout herself, halof sighing "I never got to meet my birth parents. They were killed in a strigoi attack. From what I was told, I only survived because my mother managed to hide me before she died. A few people told me that I was found underneath a floor board right next to where my mother was laying...Its not the best story but, cant change our past, can we?" she smiled again.

When asked if she wanted more to drink, Keeley shook her head "Me? No, thank you...I try not to have too much to drink...my element is fire so its a bit difficult to control if im drunk..." she explained, shrugged her shoulders lightly "Um, summer vacation. Im doing a cross country road trip. Im trying to see as much of the world as I can before school starts up again. What about you? What brings you to Vegas?"

Dani smiled and listened to the girl, and what she had to say about her guardian. "Still he shouldn't be so careless, when it comes to protecting people" She informed her, she took her soon to be job way to serious, even after what happened to her in Washington. She took her job that much more serious, she did not like being helpless. When she had to rely on Tenshi, was the moment she hated herself, for it. It wasn't his fault, it was her own, for not being more careful, but she was glad that he wasn't like most Moroi she knew. "Sorry for that" she said with a smile on her face, she was referring to her earlier comment about how he shouldn't be so careless.

"I'm sorry" she said to her, that must have been hard, losing her parents to a Strigoi attack. She knew what it was like to be attacked by the Strigoi. It wasn't fun, she was scared for her life, and Tenshi's even though he is an excellent fighter. She couldn't help but to think that she should have shot him when she had the chance, but she had never shot a gun before, and wasn't about to take out a harmless human.

That was a little bit of a relief, at least she could protect herself some if it came to that. She smiled an didn't let her see that she was glad that she was a fire user. She didn't think a Strigoi would attack but there was never a certainty on that, though. When she asked why she was in Vegas she hesitated a moment, then said "I was in Washington with my parents." she started and paused. "When i was jumped in the mall by Strigoi, it was one, but i had a Moroi with me, luckily he knew how to fight" she said to the girl. "Who knew that out of all the practice i get, and as much running as i do, that i would trip, and that would be my downfall" she said to herself, she wasn't really talking to Keeley anymore even though she was sitting right there. "I knew i would never get away from him twice, you see i snapped his neck in the mall, but that only stuns them, i took off running outside, and into the alley, when i trip and the Strigoi catches me, i thought i was a goner" she said recalling what she could about that night. "Thankfully Tenshi, the Moroi that was with me, could fight, he took on all four of them." She was so helpless, or at least that's how she felt.

Dani looked at her, and gave a small smile and said "Sorry, for the depressing story, but that's what brings me to Vegas, i couldn't face my parents, especially my dad, who is a guardian. He is stuck to the old ways that Moroi shouldn't fight, and he would yell at me and tear me a new one for even putting him in harms way." she said to her. She was really sorry for the story its not something that one should be proud of, and she certainly wasn't.

"I...I think I give him too hard a time sometimes. I mean, if I was a bit more responsible and less well, childish he wouldnt have such a hard time but I have this idea in my head on how a teenager is supposed to live their lives and cooped up in a room with a bodyguard is not how its supposed to be." Keeley shrugged her shoulders a bit and then smiled "Besides, im not toally defenseless. I know how to fight."

Yes it was ture, Moroi were not meant to fight, they were the ones that needed to be protected but much like Tasha Ozera and Christian Ozera, Keeley believed that those few moroi that are capable of fighting should fight alongside their guardians not let them go into battle and risk their lives...it wasn't fair. Dhampir's werent so different from moroi...what was so unimportant about dhampirs that it was okay to have them die?

When Dani apologized, Keeley shook her head a bit "Its fine. Dont worry about it. I mean, your probably right, Ryan should be more careful...and its okay about my birth parents. Like I said I nbever really got the chance to know them and im happy where I am. I have an amazing family and my parents love me...Family isnt family by blood. The people you love, friends, the people you'd be willing to die for are family as well even if it isnt biological."

Keeley listened to Dani's story about why she ended up in Vegas and couldnt help but frown and then when Dani finished explaining her story, Keeley half smiled and moved a hand across the table, lightly patting the other girls hand "Hey, everyone makes mistakes. No one expects you to be perfect. And if your father throws a fit, stand up to him. Tell him that what happened to you could have happened to any other guardian and if he wont shut up about it, just tell him he should be happy your still alive, not bitching because you fucked up. If that doesnt work, give me a call. I'm a very convincing person."

Dani smiled and listened to her. "Maybe you should tell your father, times are changing" she informed her. "And you have a very valuable talent, fire kills strigoi, so its not like if you run into one, you are defenseless." She said to her. "When you graduate you will get your own body guard, and it wont be some tall old guy, even if he isn't that old, but im pretty sure you can get one closer to your age" she informed her with a smile. Dani was sure she was going to graduate before Keeley did, but she didn't care.

Dani smiled and thought about her point of view, if family was people you were willing to die for, then she had a huge family that she loved and was willing to die for, one of them being Tenshi. she was willing to give up her life that night to save his, even though he was quite capable of killing those things and she wasn't.She was still mad about that and upset, but she couldn't help gravity.

Dani laughed and said "I think I'll try, but he is still my dad, and his word is final, but i think he'll understand, i mean i hope he does" she smiled and played with her coke can. She wondered what it would be like to be a moroi, even though she loved being who she was. "If he doesn't listen i'll be sure to call you up" she said with a smile. She liked Keeley she was a nice person, or so Dani thought, and she was easy to talk to.

"My father wouldnt listen if I told him that. He's the overprotective, overbearing type of father. He hardly lets me out of his sight..." Keeley frowned, sounding disappointed at this fact. She liked the idea of being able to protect herself and she was capable of fighting strigoi, even killing them My father doesnt want me fighting strigoi. I've brought it up to him once and he grounded me for a week...he can be a pain in my ass sometimes..." she snickered lightly and then shrugged her shoulders a bit "I dont care how old my guardian is...I just think i'd prefer if my guardian was a girl. I need like, a shopping buddy or something and somehow shopping with a guy isnt af much fun."

Her icy blue eyes stared at her now empty cup with a disappointed frown. She really did want another drink but she didnt think it was a good idea "Im sure he'll listen...I mean, he's your father. He should be happy that your alive. Who cares if you needed help...Everyone needs help sometime. No one, absolutely no one can be perfect...its impossible."

She smiled when Dani agreed to call and nodded her head a bit "Well, good. Because I mean...I can tell your a good guardian...if your dad cant see that than he needs a goodn yelling to. And im just the right person to do it...Ya know, because technically he cant yell back..." Keeley joked, laughing a bit.

Dani smiled and looked at her and said, "Well then dont tell him, what he wont know wont her him" she was a little dangerous, every once in a while and this was that once in a while time. She looked at her, and seen some of her moroi friends who's parents didn't like the idea of fighting. Dani thought that at least everyone had the chance to learn to protect themselves, it wasn't like some people had the chance to depend on Dhampirs like others.

"Well im not a guardian yet, but hopefully i will be by the end of this up coming school year." she said with a smile on her face. "A good shopping buddy is hard to find, even in girls, personally if i can find a gay guy to go shopping with it would be amazing" she said with a laugh, the gay guys always had the best taste, and could match just about anything, but Dani didn't get to go shopping very often because she really didn't need anything more than what she had.

Keeley frowned a bit when Dani said not to tell her father and shook her head quickly "I cant lie to my dad. I mean...our relationship is based on trust...other than me always runnning from my guardian and him yelling at me for it, we get along amazingly well. Lying to him would put our relationship at jeaporsy and I dont want that." she replied, wondering what he father would say if she did start fighting strigoi "I- I love my father, I really do but sometimes he can be very overprotective and im happy for that, it means he cares but other times I just wish he'd stop treating me like im five."

She smiled a bit and then clapped her hands excitedly, looking at Dani "You could be my guardian! Im not graduating until next year but I could pull some strings and request that you be my guardian. We clearly get along and your only like, a year and a half older than I am. It'd be perfect. And since im addicted to shopping, you'd get to shop with me every other week and we can go to movies and everything, it'll be awesome. What do you say?"
