[Adrian Ivashkov]

Adrian yawned, his head was pounding. There had been a party he had went to last night and he had drank too much. Though that wasn't too unusual for him. The Moroi got up out of bed and did the usual things he did to get ready for the night. Adrian wasn't in any hurry, he had nothing to do today at all. He decided to check in on Lissa anyway though but he didn't feel like doing that until tomorrow night.

After getting dressed, Adrian was all ready to go. He took a swig of the Vodka he always had next to his bed and grabbed his clove cigaretts before heading out the door. Deciding he wanted to have some peace and quiet, he headed for the nice outdoors. Nobody talked to him, which was fine by him, Adrain even got a few dirty looks as he lit a cigarrete and took a long drag. He let it out slowly, already feeling slightly better from the fresh air and the calming effects of smoking.

Dani had finally made her way back to court after her fiasco in Washington, then running to Vegas. She still bore a small mark where the Strigoi had bit her. She wore her hair down almost everyday, and she would keep wearing it down till the mark disappeared. When she got back to court all of the guardians already knew, and were telling her that she did great on her first encounter. How she had came up with the plan in less then 10 seconds or something like that, and how she sent the moroi away before running after them. They all knew tenshi had helped her out, and they all were glad about it that it was him and not a student moroi, or someone who couldn't fight.

Most Dhampirs were all lined up in teaching moroi how to fight. It was something that could help them out in the long run. Dani didn't feel all that glad, and she didn't feel like she did that good of a job either. All she could think about was how she tripped and fell, and how Tenshi saved her life. She was sure her mother was telling some wild tale for the Moroi to hear, she just didn't want to know what she was telling. She smelled Cloves, as she walked around court trying to avoid everyone, she groaned, and wanted to turn around and find somewhere else to go, but something stopped her.

Continuing his walk around the Court's grounds, Adrian took another drag od his cigarette. He should've brought the Vodka with him. The Spirit user was starting to see the Auras again of everyone around him. He sighed and finished off the cigarette and tossed it to the ground. The only thing cigarettes really did was calm him down, they didn't really help with dimming Spirit's effects.

He saw someone pass him that had an horrible red colored arua, "Oh, ouch, someone's mad..." Adrian laughed loud enough for the people around him to turn. That got him laughing even harder. Adrian tapped out another cig and lit it up. He was just getting ready to take a drag when he spotted a shadowed arua. Instantly wary, he stopped laughing and focused in on it. It wasn't a shadow-kissed arua but there was darkness in it. Slightly red with greying edges quickly becoming a darker color.

Walking towards the arua, he saw that it was a dhampir girl, young. He took another long drag and then a couple more. Adrian wasn't ready to even talk to dhampir women yet but this girl's arua was in serious trouble. "You alright, dhampir?"

Dani heard Dhampir, Adrian's favorite word when talking to Rose, but when he talked to her it was Little Dhampir. Yes she knew a lot about her family, she realized that they never actually met, which was odd considering they were in the same family. "Yea I'm alright" she said spinning on her heel, to look at him. She didn't know if she should introduce herself, or if she should just say bye, and leave. She was debating on what she should do. she didn't want to be rude to her own family.

Dani decided on staying, and talking. "Its nothing important." she extended that she was ok, if only he had compulsion to make people stop talking about her and what she did. She so wasn't in any mood for it. Just when she thought she would get out of it, two of her classmates walked by and faked a trip while the other one pretended to be the strigoi and take a bite out of his neck. "Where in the world did you two hear about it." she asked ready for a fight and they knew that "Just around court" they said together and ran off. Oh dear her mother had to be dealt with, this was going to be a nightmare, all over again. Her classmates were going to make fun of her for tripping, and the guardians were going to commend her for her quick thinking.

Adrian listened when the girl said she was alright. He could tell by watching her arua that she was anything but fine. Adrian had never seen this dhampir before but she reminded him of someone he knew. "What is your name?" The blond hair and the face looked strangely familiar but he couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe he had drank a little bit too much at that party. He wished it would've been enough to not see aura, but hey, that was his problem.

Adrian watched as two students acted out a scene. He guessed it was pretty important judging by how Dani's arua flared. It almost looked like they were acting out a Strigoi attack. They were going about it pretty wierd. "What was that all about?"

[Guardian Rose Hathaway]

Rose left the building where she had just sat for hours with Lissa and some other Moroi, listening to them talk on and on about some royal thing. She took a deep breath once she was outside, it felt nice to be able to get some quiet. Rose strolled along outside, wandering aimlessly untill she heard some kids goofing off. They were laughing about something, that must not have been that funny considering a voice in the distance was asking them where they had heard about it. The voice sounded familiar, have they met before? Rose continued walking, about to tell those kids to leave the girl alone, but she was stopped in her tracks once she saw Dani, and Adrian.

That's where she had heard the voice, she had met Dani earlier, it was h er that the boys were picking on. Rose jogged over to Dani, "Dani, are you okay?" she asked, "Don't let them get to you, you did great, better than the both of them would have done if put in the situation." Rose remembered her time in the academy, how people would always pick on the kids who were different; what they needed was an attitude ajustment, and she was tempted to give them one.

Dani was about to answer Adrian when Rose, She definitely wasn't in the mood for all of the people that kept telling her that she did great, and that they were proud of her, and then her classmates making fun of her. She was like a loaded cannon, ready to explode, but she wouldn't she would play nice, for the sake of everyone. She couldn't wait till she got alone, away from everyone in her room.

Dani sighed and looked at both of them and said "Its about a stupid mistake, putting people's lives at risk" she said looking at him. "Oh Dani Ivashkov, your distant cousin i think" she said with a fake smile on her face. "I was in Washington, when a strigoi entered the mall and of course i wasn't alone, Tenshi a Moroi was with me, i sent him outside, and i took off after the strigoi to get them away from the humans. Of course they came after me, there was only one in the mall. I underestimated him, he took me out or well tried to in the mall, snapped his neck took off running, and as soon as i got in the alley i trip, and get bit" she said moving her hair to show the mark that the strigoi left on her. "It was heroic, it wasn't great it was stupid i put a lot of lives in danger." she said explaining it to Adrian.

Dani started to feel sad, and all she wanted was to be alone, she didn't do anything right, well expect to protect the humans.

Adrian set his eyes upon the the girl he had given his heart to years ago. Her arua was now just like the others with slightly brighter colors. He smiled brightly and said cheerfully, "Nice to see you, Rose." God, he'd kill for a drink right now but he settled for once again taking a long drag of his cigarette. When he blew out, he made sure it wasn't anywhere near his old girlfriend. Old habits die hard...

Adrian focused on what his distant cousin was saying, "Well, cousin, seems to me like you tried your best but you still messed up. So what, learn from it." He took another draft, knowing full well that he was being harsh. But Dani was right, she didn't need people telling her she did great. She had made a mistake that could have cost her her life. But Adrian knew that he wouldn't have been so harsh if Rose hadn't been there.

[Guardian Rose Hathaway]

Rose flinched as she heard Dani scold herself, it wasn't right, she shouldn't be repremanding herself for doing something good, yeah she might have been sloppy with it, but the fact was, no one was really hurt, and she reigned victorious. She thought about it some more and realized something, Dani did something Rose would have when she was younger, maybe that's why everyone was saying she did nothing wrong. Were people going easy on Dani because of the damage Rose did as as student? She shrugged that thought off, and turned to Adrian. Rose smirked, "Hey there stranger, I see you're up to your usual."

Rose shot Adrian a dirty look for being so blunt with Dani. "He does have a point, no matter how obnoxious he is when trying to prove it." she said, "That's the thing about being a guardian in training, the only way to learn things is to make a few mistakes along the way. You fix them and get better, then move on."

Dani couldn't believe her ears, they were both telling her different things. Dani just fell to the ground and sat there looking at them. She couldn't believe it, one was blunt about it the other was being nice about it. she needed someone to tell her that she needed to be pushed harder, and that she needed to work harder, and she needed to start training harder and longer every day. Thats what she needed, not everyone telling her that she did great, or that she messed up horribly and them telling her nicely that she needed to practice harder.

One mistake, was all it took to bring Dani crashing from all the progress that she thought she had made, since she was little. "Yes one mistake that could have killed me" she really didn't say that to either one of them, but it was to her that she said it too. "She got up and looked at both of them she was mad, no scratch that she was pissed off.

"Where in the hell do you get off telling me to learn from it" she said looking at Adrian. "I have been learning from every mistake i have made thought out my life, in school with the guardians here, and yet i still mess up from a stupid rock, or crack or what ever i tripped on, how do you learn from that please pray-tell" she said almost screaming at him. Then her focus turned to Rose, Dani knew that they both meant well but really who did they think they were. "I have done what every guardian has taught me, and i still end up tripping, how in the world am i going to fix that, and i could have died, and if i did how in the hell would i fix that then?" she was mad and it wasn't really at them it was more at herself for being weak, and stupid, and tripping.

Grinning at Rose, he nodded, "Of course I am, little dhampir. At least I can enjoy it." Adrian said easily, with no anger or hurt at all in his voice or expression but inside Rose had hurt him with that single comment. He really was trying but everyone else made it so hard, especially her.

Adrian took the yelling as if he didn't even care, with his usual style and grace. That usually got people pissed off even more at him. Adrian wanted Dani mad at him, the angrier she got, the more she'd push herself next time. "Simple, if you do not learn from it, you could be costing people their lives. That is not something you should be happy about." Ouch, even Adrian couldn't believe he had just said that. Screw the drink, he'd have to make it an all-nighter this time.
