Taking a few calming deep breaths, a Strigoi looked directly at the very cluster of buildings he had come to love and hate and fear at the same time. Though now, all Aries Ventrani felt while walking with human slowness, was fear and hate. Once again, Aries had strayed from his sole purpose as an assassin. That could cost him not only his life but the lives of those he had strayed for. But they both had offered him something that could not be taken from him.
He had loved this place before, this place had let him socialize without getting into fights with the other assassins mainly because they didn't see each other enough to get upset at each other. There was also a time when Aries had basked in praise from all of those around him, including the Master. Aries had had it all. But that changed the first time he had strayed from his narrow path. The Master and the others had made sure he would not stray again. The assassins stopped trailing him two years after the first time ten years ago.
This time was different. Aries Ventrani would either make a stand or die. That was if the Master knew about Tenshi or Anya. If not, then he was good to go.
Finally getting to the entrance, the two guards opened the doors with smiles and greetings. So far so good. The next few doors went the same way. Until he was stopped by three assassins. Aries almost tensed up but saw the expressions and grinned. He knew the three well and had gone on missions together, especially with two of them, Johnathan and Ardeth. They exhanged greetings and success of missions since they had last met.
But soon, Aries bid them farewell with promises to speak with them after talking with the Master. After a couple more doors, Aries drew himself up and calmed himself before going into the huge room where the Master always was. Walking straight to the middle of the floor, Aries dropped to one knee and slip his hood back in one graceful movement to reveal an already bowed head. The Strigoi was showing the upmost respect. He would stay in his bow until the Master released him from his presence. "My mission was successful, my Master."

Had Es was not a dumb man. He knew that Aries had gone through something very interesting during his mission. "Good, very good, my assassin." Aries was one of his prized Strigoi. He shifted his weight in his chair. An informant Strigoi walked up and handed him a dossier. Had Es scanned the dossier. This man was a very large threat. "I need you to assassinate a rather new player to the game before his influence can grow. Apparently, you met him in West Virginia. His name is Tenshi Hikari no Sekiyo." Had Es chuckled. This man was truly named the Angelic Light of Miracles? What a cliche. He almost felt sorry for the man bestowed with the name. However, he pitied the man all the more for catching Had Es's eye. "Actually, no, don't kill him. Turn him. He is one of the few people with an age near mine. He could be very useful."

A small smile came to his lips as the Master praised him for he knew he did not hand over praise lightly. That smile vanished as soon as Had Es La Sinistre started speaking again. Aries was glad that his head was bowed, he was now going to have a choice and fast. Maybe a dagger throw could actually hit the Master and give him time to escape? Aries doubted it but he may not have another option. Until his Master spoke again.
Aries resisted the urge to lift his head, "Yes I know him, Master. He helped me take out Bryan and his companion, as well as most of the Strigoi they had made. Do you wish for me to go back and finish them off?" The assassin made no more comments about Tenshi. Though so far, he had neither accepted or declined the order to turn Tenshi. No matter what he said however, Aries Ventrani was not going to turn Tenshi.

Had Es was getting irritated with Aries. He would not send Aries for a clean-up job like that. Perhaps, he would send Nyara, but not Aries. "No, I want you to turn the mercenary. He is dangerous. He took out eighty percent of the Strigoi population in Spokane, not to mention his other atrocities. I want him on my side. Now." Hopefully, he spelled it out enough for Aries. "If you are not up to the job, I'll send back-up. How's that?"

Anger and fear built up in Aries but he dared not show it. His resolve for taking action against the Master had vanished. The Master was just too strong and dangerous. He kept his head down and was glad that his hands were already clenched in his bow. His nails bit into his palms, he would have to kill something after this meeting.
"I am fully capable of doing this myself, Master. I will not fail you." Aries spoke clearly with no emotion in his voice at all. At least he wasn't going to die tonight, that was always a good thing. Aries waited with baited breath for the Master to release him and send him on his way. The Strigoi hoped that his answer would please his Master for that at least.

Had Es was not a stupid man. He could practically sense Aries's friendship with Mr. Sekiyo. He began formulating a way to ensure that the job is done. "Hm, that is fine you are dismissed." He waved his hand to tell Aries to leave. He motioned for one of the other Strigoi to come near him. The Strigoi bent over to hear Had Es's command. "Tell Johnson to tail Aries on this mission. I am not going to lose my top assassin.", he whispered.

The Strigoi stood, released from his bow and told to leave. Aries obliged happily, his cloak waving behind him as he hurried out. He was furious! He felt that something was up because his two assassin friends wouldn't eet his eyes as he walked out and past door after door.
What was he going to do now?

Had Es silently watched his assassin leave. He wondered what this Mr. Sekiyo had said that had gotten Ventrani so rebellious. He was always a loose cannon, but Had Es actually could see the anger as he left. He sighed a bit. This Sekiyo was a mercenary. Perhaps he could find him through that. "VENTRANI! Stay... I will supervise this mission personally." He motioned for one of the servants to hand him a cellphone. Luckily, Sekiyo actually owned a business. "Let us see why this man is so powerful."

Just as he headed out the door, Aries heard his name, commanding him to come back in. His 'friends' snickered and almost laughed out loud. Aries bared his fangs furiously and they stopped right then and there. Aries was the best after all.
Tunring once again to the middle of the floor and bowed. He couldn't hide his rage from his eyes though. Aries was just too mad by now. But his anger vanished, replaced by nothing but fear. His head looked up, eyes meeting his master's gaze, "What? But why?" He couldn't stop himsefl from asking and as soon as he realized what he had said and done, Aries lowered his head again, "I am sorry for speaking so boldly, Master, it will not happen again."

Had Es bared HIS fangs at Aries. That little pice of filth had no right to question HIS methods! Then, he calmed himself. He was still the best assassin. "Your apology is accepted. I know you can do this on your own, but Mr. Sekiyo's acts of defiance are getting more and more bold. Even if he does not get turned, I will put the fear of me into this poor excuse of a creature. We will call him next week. Are we clear? Good. Dismissed"

Aries visibly winced and flinched, his hands were shaking slightly but not from anger. He had never had the Master this angry at him before, not even when he had made friends with his Moroi targets ten years ago.
The Strigoi nodded his gratidude, not trusting himself to speak and knew the Master was enjoying his fear. Aries was going to have to warn Tenshi before they went after him.

Had Es smiled. He had gotten the correct response out of Aries. Apparently, he needed to put the fear of Death in him as well. "You may leave now, or did I stutter?" He was probably going to send one of his servants to get a human prisoner out of the dungeons. He was getting a little hungry.

Aries glanced at his Master before rising again. This time when he turned and started walking out of the room. As soon as he paced the door, Aries downright fled, ignoring everything around him. He didn't stop until he was outside once more. He took a deep couple of breaths but even that did not stop his hands from quaking in pure fear.
