He could tell that she was puzzled by his eyes. Ah well, most people were. Well, that was why he normally wore sunglasses. Still, he felt it was best to alleviate her uneasiness about his eyecolor. "the eye color thing is some sort of condition. It reduces my vision in the sunlight, forcing me to wear sunglasses even in the winter. On the bright side, I can see things in the dark most Moroi can't see." He was a bit puzzled at her little soldier-esque routine. It amused him to a point. Still, the apparent lack of personal thought reminded him of those Communist regimes he was hired so many times to assassinate the heads of. "But it makes no sense. Now, I'm not saying that we should dance in the sun or anything, but our community is large enough to qualify as a separate country. Why not help humans understand us? They could aid us against the Strigoi."

Dani smiled and said "Well I figured you weren't Strigoi, cause you had to cross the wards to get in here, and you were just out in sunlight, and you will be when we are through here" Dani took another bite of her food. She loved BLT sandwiches tasted, with the bacon the lettuce the tomato, and of course the mayo. She could never be a vegetarian because of how much she loved BLT's, that and the pepperoni. She had weird eating habits, so her friends said. "Must be nice to see in the dark" she said in a joking voice.
Dani listened to him and shook her head. "Humans are all pretty much the same. You tell them about a chance at immortality, they no longer want to help you they want the immortality" Dani said to him, and thought about a few years ago. "Some of the members of the Badica family, a few years ago, were killed because Humans helped Strigoi stake the wards. They helped because they were promised immortality." She said "They also killed some Guardians, they were pretty amazing guardians too." Dani thought some more. "When they find out about us they find out about Strigoi, most of the time they pick Strigoi even if they know what they do, so its pointless."

Heh, he had no idea this place was warded. He guessed that was because he did not need to know stuff like that to pass. He wondered if other Moroi locations were this fortified. Probably not, but he would have to ask the queen. "Depends on what you see.", he said in response to the joke about his natural night vision. He had always been perplexed about the reasons behind humanity's desire for immortality. Someone with as long a lifespan as Tenshi would tell them of the "joys" of seeing your friends and family drop at your feet as you continued to go along. It was a maddening experience indeed. "Immortality? That's what the Strigoi have to offer? No wonder they would always join the Strigoi. It may be an idiotic thing to desire, but it is humanity's greatest.

Dani finished her sandwich, and downed her water, and smiled to Tenshi. "Well the ability to know where stuff is when you enter your home, the ability to see in the darkest of night in the woods, and not running into everything in the way." Dani knew about the last one because she often ran into her desk a few times with out even thinking. "When ever your ready we can move to finishing my errands" she said to him, with a smile. Dani's jade green eyes wondered around the area, still being on alert. There was nothing to worry about on the grounds, but it was still something that she did when she was with Moroi. It was drilled in her brain 'They come first', and she was with a Moroi at the present moment.
Dani's eyes drifted back to Tenshi, and gave a smile and listened to him talk. "That's why we go out of our way to keep ourselves unknown to them. Yes it would be nice to have more people on our side." She started and stopped for a moment, then continued, "Especially with the Dhampirs numbers dwindling, they can't seem to get us ready and graduated before our senior year, they tried passing a law that would make us graduate a year early, but that fell flat after Lissa became queen." Dani was glad for small miracles, that happened at court. Lissa knew that not everyone could step up as quickly as Rose did, or even Eddie.

Tenshi nodded at the comment about his enhanced vision. He surveyed the room, picking out possible assassination points. It had become a habit of his when in a room like this. He would have made a great policeman. "That's fine. Let's go." He stood up from his chair and payed the tip for the waitress with some of his American money. He put his sunglasses back on and did the same with his fedora. He had no idea why, bu the loved these little hats. "Really? Maybe I should train some. They'll be combat-ready in a year or two."

Dani smiled and was going to pay the bill, but Tenshi got to it first. She got up and pushed in her chair, and walked out of the cafe, and into the sun that seemed to be higher up that it was. Maybe they spent more time than she though they did in there. "Will you be ok" she asked him. She was concerned because Moroi could technically be in the sunlight, it was just harder for some more then others. She could easily hurry and get the errands done, she just wanted to make sure he was ok, and he wasn't going to keel over and die in front of her.
"It's not so much they aren't ready in combat, or more they aren't ready to protect people with their lives, they haven't matured enough, im not saying you mature on your 18th birthday, but by giving them those few extra years they might be able to mature and get a grip on situations that they will be placed in." Dani said hoping she explained it enough to him. It wasn't something that people could go into right away, or even after a year. "I have no doubt they would be ready in a year or two training under you" she said.

Tenshi walked out the door and began sweating again. He was never affected by the sun unless he was in warmer clothes like his mercenary attire. It did not bother him as much as his sweating made it seem. Actually, he liked being out in the sun most of the time. "Yeah, I'll be fine." He nodded in understanding at the protection thing. Giving your life to someone else was a huge decision. Tenshi would do that for clients only because most of his adversaries did not know how to kill him. Still, he preferred being behind cover in a firefight. "Understandable, they would be looked down upon back in my day though."

Dani lead them through the court, where they first stopped and picked up a messenger bag, that had all the details they need to deliver the items and letters. She shook her head and mumbled "I guess im the messenger for everyone today." She looked at the list and smiled she could find all of these places quickly. "If you need to stop or sit down just let me know" she said to Tenshi, as they started again on their delivery mission. Well Dani liked to think of it as a mission.
"Well Old Man," She started to say, she had grown comfortable enough to call him that. "Your day and my Day are two different things." She said with a smiled. She stopped and put a letter in a mailbox. Then continued to move towards the next place. "Even some of the guardians are still immature at times, when they aren't guarding Moroi" Dani smiled.

Tenshi chuckled at the messenger comment. Well, it was better than nothing for a job, he guessed. He had done a few courier missions in his time. He did not mind the missions. They made good money and no violence was required. "I don't think a bit of sun and walking will kill me. I'm not the daintiest Royal you'll ever see." He followed her quietly. Jeez, these new kids were such talkers. He did not mind much. However, the Old Man comment was a bit of a stab. Eh, he could probably make a diapers comment if need be. "You got that right. Nowadays, kids don't listen. It's all about their needs. Heh, in my youth days I should say - I'm not in my twilight years yet- you would have been exiled for not havuing blind suicidal devotion."

Dani smiled and said "Well you could have fooled me" she was talking about him being a dainty royal. She knew he wasn't because he talked about his job, she enjoyed his company and the talking, he didn't talk down to her, or well she didn't think he did at least. Dani placed packages, and knocked on door, then left them there. The people inside would know that there was a package, and that was all she cared about.
Dani smiled and shook her head. "Hey some kids do" she said referring to herself, she knew some kids didn't but she did. "I think i would take exile over blind suicidal devotion, because I'm not suicidal, but i will protect someone with my life. I just don't do it blind." She said and smiled, placing more letters in mail boxes and then placing packages in front of doors, and knocking on them.

Tenshi put his hands in his coat pockets, checking the ammunition on the inside of the coat. It was an old habit he picked up a century or so ago when guns became reliable enough for regular use. Heh, the katana he still kept with him was as lethal as ever which was good. "Really now? Huh, must not have noticed all the blood on the trench coat."
He was now escorting the papergirl. Heh, it was not the first time. Then again, when he last did it, they were set upon three groups of bandits, a platoon of soldiers from France, two wild bears, and a crazy German guy dressed like who would become Santa Claus. He remembered the first tales of that legend. How odd they were back then. "Well, the blind part was never taken literally. Unless, you got caught staring for too long. Then, yeah it was literal blindness."

Dani smiled and shook her head "Huh No i guess i didn't" she said then laughed. She noticed it, it wasn't something she thought about but she noticed it. Dani looked down in her bag, it was almost empty, there was a few left. "Almost done" she said with a smile, and continued to deliver the last few parcels, from the bag. She was glad to be closer to getting done. It meant that she could go to bed soon, which was something she was looking forward to doing.
Dani listened to him and was shocked. "Wow they made people blind" she asked but it was really a rhetorical question, because she knew the answer to it already. "Why would someone want to stare at a Moroi they all are pale, and not all that great looking" she said but she knew they some of them were amazing, and they would do what ever they could to be like them, even if it meant staring for long periods of time.

Tenshi pushed up his sunglasses a bit. He was glad this was almost over. He needed to see the queen. Wait, the queen was probably asleep. Ah well, he had to adjust to American time anyway. "Well, isn't that wonderful?" He sighed. She did not understamd what he meant. Suddenly, his cellphone went off. He took it out of his pocket and checked the caller. Great, it was a hidden phone number. That normally meant a potential customer. "Yo? Yeah... yeah... that is my specialty, yeah... no... I'm busy rediscovering myself. What;s that? Hey, we have hearts too. Wait, you're the one hiring me to kill someone! Who's the heartless one again?... Right... No, I'm on a self-imposed vacation... Yeah, it pays to be your own boss...Alright, see ya." He snapped his phone shut and looked back at Dani. "No, they didn't stare at Moroi. They stared at the servant girls and my mother. My father normally responded with the blinding thing. I mean my adoptive parents by the way."

Dani continued to finish up, she sighed as she placed the last package down and rang the door bell, then moved away from the door. Tenshi's cellphone when off, and he answered it. Dani stood there and waited for him to get done with his phone call. It seemed weird but she didn't question it too much. "Yes being done is wonderful" she said with a smile and a yawn. She was tired, and really did need to go get some sleep.
"Ah, well i don't see why people stare, its just not nice" she said to him. "When people stare at me i think that i don't match or that my hair is out of wack, or that i have something on me" She looked at him and shook her head. "Well my rounds are done, and i need some sleep, are you coming back to your room or you just going to wonder out here till the Queen wakes up." she asked him.

Tenshi smiled a bit. He understood how tenuous meneal tasks such as these were. He put his cellphone back in his designated pocket. "Really now? And here I thought you wanted to keep working."
He chuckled a bit. He almost wanted to tell her that most people stared because she looks appealing to them. Then again, he never thought such things; so he had no way of knowing. He readjusted his gloves a bit. "I may go to sleep, but I don't really know."
