Tracked Down[DANI]

[Tenshi Sekiyo]

Tenshi had found them. The Royal Moroi gathered in one place like fish in a barrel. Perfect. This gave him a chance to question all twelve families in one fell swoop. Dang, he really was a good shot, killing twelve annoying birds with one shot. Why was the court in Pennsylvania of all places? Transylvania closed for repairs or something? Eh, it was not of his concern; he was here for answers about his problems. Maybe then, he could stop being such an amoral jerk. He kicked open the doors to the Court rather forcefully.

"Royals, the Prodigal Son has made himself known. What's up?"

Well, he never was good at greetings. He guessed that was why he made those business cards and gave them to people while he ate or something. Normally, he did not eat targets, but he had been known to snack if it was a particularly long mission. He wondered what was up with some of his targets coming back and trying to kill him lately as he strolled through the halls. It was a bit odd, but they were especially concetrated. now, THAT was the weirdest part. Normally, zombies were not concentrated but around one area. Well, that was what Mr. Romero had you believe. Tenshi loved that movie.

[Dani Ivashkov]

It was summer vacation for Dani, and her family was visiting the Royal Court. She went there like every summer, because her mother was an Ivashkov so they had to go and spend time with other families, Dani wasn't to excited about it because she was looked down on by Royals, and she was pretty much an outcast in her Sr. Novice classes. She didn't mind it much, but during the summer months when she had to be around her family she hated it. Dani being a Dhampire she could go and hang out with the other guardians, they knew who she was, and they still accepted her for who she was, a great novice.

She wasn't that great but she was one of the top students in her class. So the guardians loved to have her around. She listened to all of their advice, and did as she was told. She was actually on an errand for one of the guardian, she didn't mind it at all because it got her away from her family. Someone came into court, and said something.

"Hello." Dani said as she neared him. "Well other than the Council being in a dead lock again, with the queen trying to decided and fix things, nothing really." She spoke to the man who had said something. Dani was still holding on to her package that was rather heavy. She really need to get the package to the guardian, by the gates. "Care to come with me?" she asked politly.

Tenshi peered at the girl standing before him through his glasses, analyzing every feature. He wanted to remember her face and voice. He made sure to make a note of her body language too. Then, after a few seconds of analysis, he said, "Heh, beauracracies are so fun to watch when in chaos. They're like a giant beehive with no queen. Anyway, sure, lemme help ya with that."

Nonchalantly, he picked up the package with his left hand. It was sort of a show-off thing, but he also did it out of habit. He did not want to get caught off-guard with his hands full. That was worse than getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar. Turning to the girl, he said, "Sorry, I never introduced myself. Name's Tenshi Hikari no Sekiyo. I know I don't look Japanese, but apparently, I'm the illegitimate son of some Royals. Well, that's what a DNA Test said, but science can't be trusted, right?"

Dani smiled at the man, she was well aware of her surroundings, and could act on an instant, thats if she didn't hesitate, she had a tendency to do that. She wasn't sure if she should trust this man, she could get a good read on him. He wasn't strigoi, but she couldn't be sure if he was royal or not, it wasn't something she could tell. She did notice that he wasn't from around here, by his features, and the way he talked. "Thank you" she said to him when he took the package. "Well the system here is kind of one sided, and Queen Lissa is the one to try and sort it all out." she replied with a sigh.

"Nice to meet you" she said with a smile and said "My name is Dani Ivashkov, and i will someday become a guardian like my dad" she said proudly. "This way" she gestured, and started to move towards the main gates. "Well Science isn't one of my better subjects, so im not really sure. I guess somethings can be trusted, but not everything" she smiled and continued to walk to the main gate. She couldn't help but wonder who his parents were, if he was a royal. He almost reminded her of an Ivashkov, but she couldn't be sure, and she wasn't going to ask him about it.

Tenshi followed at a rather brisk pace. He was beginning to wonder why all this talk about Royals, Guardians, and Queens seemed ever so familiar to his old mind. Then, it hit him. They, it seemed were still in feudalism, a system that always seemed to annoy him as the years went on. He was very happy that Japan had done away with it when America discovered them. He remembered meeting a missionary from there that had caught him eating. The cross is not as repulsive as he thought. Then again, it was dark; so he was at full strength. He simply knocked the fellow out and left him in a lodge.
{color=blue]"Well, Ms. Dani, might I inquire the average age of a Moroi? An odd request, I know, but I'm trying to make sure that my parents have any chance of being alive."[/color]

He hoped that around a millenia was a good average. That gave him a lifetime of leeway, quite literally. What was with all the questions today? Perhaps the more questions he asked, the easier it would be to find the answers. Then again, that was not how that little game worked.

"Heh, first time in Pennsylvania, I killed a rather corrupt Moroi businessman down in Florida of all places a few months back. 'Course, the only reason I knew that was through the lack of obituaries on a Mr. Cheznov or any of his 'sons.' That was an easy hit. The dude was on the beach, trying to be normal..."

The, he realized he was talking to a kid again.

"Oh, but you, uh don't need to know the gruesome details."

Dani was taken back by his question, she never did ask anyone. "Hmm that is an interesting question. The oldest that i know of is 100, and she was the queen, but she is retired" she thought for a moment, "Well how old would your parents be" she asked. She wondered how old he really was, because looking at him he didn't seem that old, but that was an odd question to ask, which led her to believe that he was older than he appeared to be. Dani continued to walk she almost forgot the turn, that wasn't like her at all. "This way" she said as she turned the corner.

"Good thing you came in the summer, it gets rather cold in the winter here" Dani pointed out. Her hair was up in a pony tail, she didn't want to cut her hair. She didn't have any tattoos on her neck yet, but she would soon. She listened while he talked about some kill he made, she was intrigued by him. "Most Moroi don't fight, its so unusual for one to speak of killing someone." She smiled and kept on walking. "Almost there." she said.

Then a man walked passed them, and waved at Dani. "Oh Hans i have a package for you" she said stopping. Hans smiled at her and said "Well just put it on my desk I'll get to it later, and thank you Dani" Hans kept on walking. Dani nodded and started walking again. Then she turned her attention back to Tenshi. "I dont mind, one day i'll kill Strigoi, so its ok" she said and turned the next corner, and entered a small office space, with a few desks in it. "Just put the package on that desk" she instructed, and pointed to the first desk on the right.

Tenshi was about three eye twitches from yelling in anger. His parents were DEFINITELY dead now. Great, just great, he traversed the world, shook down informants and targets on information for this place, killed a few guys, and just found out that he was the oldest-living thing on this rock. This was a fun day indeed. he set the package down as instructed.
"You can bump that age to five hundred... I'm five hundred. Yeah, commence grandpa jokes or whatever, heard 'em all before."

He wiped his gloved hands together. He wondered why he had not keeled over and died yet. Then again, he believed himself to be undead until someone explained the nature of vampires to him. Heh, it was somewhat funny how old he felt now. Even the people he thought were near his age he had beat by a hundred years, it seemed.
"Jeez, i feel REALLY old now.", he remarked.

Dani wanted to so drop her mouth, but she knew to respect her elders, even if they were way older then she was. "Wow, thats pretty darn old" she said turning to look at him. "But why is it that you dont look that old" she asked, she knew it wasn't very polite, but she had to ask. Once the package was placed on the desk she turned to head out of the door. "Ready to go" she asked politely, or well as politely as she could being she still couldn't get over his age. "Well i would say thats not that old, but that would be a lie, and i really don't tell lies." She commented.

"Since you haven't been in court yet, how about i show you around" she asked and looked at him. Court was a large place. It had a Chapel that was beautiful with all the moroi statues. It had Housings for guests, dhampires, and regular moroi who stayed year round. There was shops, and places to eat. There were feeders, but Dani didn't care to know where that was. It also had a large house that was to be a castle, but a castle here would be noticeable, but thats where the Queen lived. There were larger homes, where Royal Moroi who stayed lived. There was even a spa on the grounds.

Tenshi sighed when he heard the question about his youthful good looks. He had about as much idea as she did. He thought it was normal for Moroi to not age, but he should have known after the deaths of a few elderly-looking Moroi by his blade. That is right; he had not cleaned his blade in a week.
You wouldn't happen to have like a well or a spring around here would you? Heck, a spa would do... Oh yeah, no idea why I'm so young-looking. It's not the blood drinking; because I only do that like once every couple of days. Maybe the spirits of my ancestors protect me? Hah, I'm kidding."

He unholstered his revolver and twirled it a few times, checking for anything wrong with it. Then, holstering the gun, he checked the ammunition in his coat. He did this on occasion to make sure he does not get caught without a ranged weapon.
"You guys wouldn't happen to have an armory or something, would ya?", he asked.

Dani looked at him as he answered her question. "The spa is this way" she said with a smile on her face. "Where we just were was the guardians main office." Dani informed him as she left the area. She continued to walk through the maze that was their square, leading him to the spa area. Dani pointed in the opposite direction than they were heading and said "That way will lead you to the Chapel, and the gardens, its a beautiful place to go to" she smiled. Then she came to another intersection and point to the left then to right "To the right is shops, and then to the left are the housing areas, which we should stop at to get you a room." she said to him.

"How long are you planning on staying" she question him. "I dont mean to be nosy but that is something that everyone needs to know, since you remind me of the Ivashkov family, i would say one of your parents might be an Ivashkov." she stated then continued "If thats true then you need a guardian, or two, if you leave while staying here" she continued straight and smiled as the neared a building that was tan, with large window. "Here is the spa." Dani smiled and looked at Tenshi "Where the queen stays is towards the housing, its the largest building that way." she stated. "I think that is the end of the tour, and no there isn't an armory or something like that here." Dani smiled and looked at him, someone called her name she turned to look, she smiled and waved at one of the guardians that walked past them.

Tenshi examined the areas that were being pointed out by his new acquaintance. He would have to check out the shops and spa later. Right now, he had to see the queen. He had a feeling that the queen did not have the answers he was seeking, but he had to try. It was not like anything BAD was gonna happen to him. Actually, he DID have bad luck with other Moroi.
"A guardian, eh? Never needed one before... Really, giving me a guardian is giving me a new apprentice in bushido. Heh, that's not a bad idea, all in all."
He walked toward the largest building as instructed. His leather shows squeaked against the stone path. He wondered what was WITH these Guardians. Could the beurocrats not defend himself. If so, that is a riot.
"Wow, rich people making others defend them. Well, i assume they're rich, but anyway, can't they fend for themselves? At very least they can read people's intents right? Or am I special there too?"

Dani smiled at him and said "Guardians go through our own training, i do not think they would want to go through more, unless you get the ones who always want to train." Dani followed him as he headed towards the queens residents. "You do know you can't bother the queen just yet, and i don't think she'll have your answers." she said to him. "The queen is still busy, and she had only been in her position for 3 years." Dani said hurrying to catch up with him.

She placed her hand on his arm and said "If you want information about parents or family that died best place to look would be in the archives, they are stored here and then the Alchemist have them too." She said. "The archives are this way" she said pointing in another direction. She was good at reading people, and payed attention to what he had said earlier, and she could infer thats what he wanted to talk to the queen about.

"All Moroi can fend for themselves, Fire Moroi have better uses against Strigoi then Water Earth or Air, but they all can fend for themselves, they just choose not to, and since they help my race exist, we in turn protect them." she said as a matter of fact. "The only people i know that can wield compulsion like that are spirit users and there are very very few of them there are 4 that i know of." She informed him. Dani didn't want him to interrupt the council meetings, because that was something that just wasn't done.

Tenshi sighed a bit. He knew the kid did not want him to interrupt beauracracy at work. She was probably right about the queen not having answers though. He turned toward the archives and began walking that way.
"Huh, I guess I'm one of those Spirit user guys... I made one dude think he shot me... then I shot him... Well, that's wonderful info."
He heard her give her reason for protecting the Moroi. It did not suprise him much. Most protectors like that were related to the person they were protecting. It made it personal and made the guy more vigilant.
"Say, that Ivashkov thing... one of my contacts said something about me having dual lineage like two royal families or something... Any other family I resemble?"

Dani's eyes went wide when he said he was a Spirit User, that brought her total up to 5, that they know knew of or was it 6 she couldn't remember there might have been another one that someone talked about. "Queen Lissa, and Lord Ivashkov would probably like to meet you, they are both Spirit Users" She said it so fast that she could have been a train. She heard what he said but couldn't believe that. "You have actually used compulsion on someone" She asked, she just couldn't believe it. Compulsion was supposed to be something was was banned, but all spirit users couldn't help it, and she didn't know anyone who openly used it with out being in distress.

Dani thought about it for a moment, "Hm" she said looking at him. "Im not really sure, but i know that Ozera mixed with Ivashkov a long time ago they also did with the Dragomirs too" she said to him looking at him. She wondered again if they could be related, but she didn't want to think about it. She didn't her mom wouldn't know anything about her family from over 500 years ago. "Hard to say, but you definitely have some Ivashkov to you." she said with a warming smile.

Tenshi gave a slight smile to Ms. Ivashkov. Apparently, he was special all the way around. What a day he had been having.
"Lord Ivashkov and Queen Lissa, eh? Well, either they need to come to the library, or I need to make an appointment. And I'll start researching the Ozeras and Ivashkovs then.", he said.
He walked through the library doors and stared at the twelve huge bookcases. He hoped they were labeled. He scanned through the labels and walked toward the Ivashkov section. He pulled out a lineage book and began fliipping the pages, hoping to find his parents. He was glad to know there was one thousand years of history in this book.
"Well, at least it's old enough..."
He got to around his date of birth and found three candidates. Two, both males, had his facial structure and eyes and the female had his hair and build. he showed the three to Dani.
"Any of these people honeymoon to Japan circa 1550 AD?"
