Dani California -Tenshi-

[Dani Ivashkov]

Dani had flew to Washington with her parents, for some party, she hated being dragged all over the country for parties. She had better things to do the attend parties. She missed her friends that she had made over the past few weeks. She smiled and wondered around a mall somewhere in Washington. She didn't know why she was there, but she was. She was bored out of her mind, and she hated it.

Her mother had told her to go do something to keep her wake, so Dani choose to go to the mall. Her mother gave her some money, so she could by a dress for the party, but Dani was just going to wear a dress she already had. Dani planned on buying things she wanted, like maybe a new pair of jeans, or some shirts, or even some jewelry, anything other than a dress. Dani had her hair laid over one side of her shoulder, with it in a loose pony tail. She had on Black converse, not the ideal shoes to run in, but she wasn't protecting anyone so she didn't care. She had Skinny jeans on that had a hole in the knee, that was the style for them, and she also had on a Red Hot Chili Peppers tank-top on, with a black jacket over it.

The heck was Tenshi doing Washington? Oh yeah, he had to go to Spokane investigate a Strigoi sighting. He decided to check the malls for info since it was in the day. He had made sure to keep the weapons in a briefcase. He normally did not pull out the weapons until Strigoi could attack him. He nodded and waved at a few friendly people. Then, he did a double take. Dani? What was she doing here? He silently walked over to her.
"Well, hello, Ms. Ivashkov." At very least, he could scare her. he saw a shadow flicker in and out fo sight. Since when could Strigoi go out during the day? He checked his watch. Crap, he was running on Japan time. It was nightime here. He opened his suitcase and pulled out all of his weapons. Now, he was fully equipped to deal with a Strigoi.
"Please tell me you saw that."

When someone said her name, and so formally, she almost jumped twenty feet in the air. She turned on her heel, to see Tenshi, "Oh dear you sacred me." she informed him. She didn't know what she would have done if he was a strigoi, she didn't have the time to run, she hesitated, and that was never good. Dani saw something move to fast to be human or Moroi, she knew what it was, and she didn't have anything to deal with it, but she did have a plan. A person could not just simply murder someone in the middle of the mall, you were bound to get arrested.

Her thoughts pulled together, she was with a Moroi, and even if he didn't need it, she had to protect him. "Yes i saw that, we need to get it out of the mall and into an alley, you need to be in that alley way ready, i'll get him there" she said looked at Tenshi. She really didn't like doing it but she was going to have to. "Be on your guard, i only seen the one but there might be more waiting, and you can not kill that thing in the mall, so dont even think about it." she informed him in a warning tone. She had the ability to take command if she needed to, and this was such a time, she only hoped Tenshi would listen. She didn't really want to wait for an answer but she needed to know he would listen to her.

Tenshi agreed with Dani's strategy. This tile was too nice to dirty with blood. He simply smiled and walked toward the alleyway. He saw more shadows.
"If you plan on fighting them all by yourself, you may want to grab a weapon." He took out one of his spare revolvers and tossed it to her.
"Watch out. recoil's a pain. Also, explosive rounds, aim for the head." these Dhampires had protection hard-wired into their skulls. It did not bother Tenshi that much, however. At very least, he could use the backup in case he got sloppy. then again, Tenshi getting sloppy was a very rare occurence. He walked into the alleyway and leaned against the wall, arms crossed. What fun it would be to get some action.

Dani smiled and said a little silent pray to whoever decided to listen. She was glad for Tenshi to listen to her plan. This was now the hard part, getting the Strigoi to follow her. She had no intentions on fighting it alone, she was unarmed, or she was till Tenshi tossed her a gun. Oh boy this was going to be a learning experience if there ever was one. She had never fired a gun before, she wasn't even on stakes yet, she had no clue how to use one. She smiled and nodded to him, not letting him know she had no idea what she was doing with a gun.

She took off running in the direction that the Strigoi was headed. It apparently caught wind of what she was thinking before she acted. It became a game of hide and seek. She hated games, she would follow. She slipped a few times on the floor, because her shoes weren't the greatest shoes to be running in. She paused and quickly shimmied out of her shoes, and picked up a pair that was in a shoe department store. They were made for running, for which she was glad. She hopped as she placed the shoes on still in pursuit, but the Strigoi changed directions and started to head towards her as she was placing the last shoe on. "Oh Darn" she said.

Dani didn't get a chance to turn and run. The Strigoi had knocked her flat on her back. This was the worst possible place for her to be. She struggled as the Strigoi tried to stay in control, but he went in for the bite, that's when she made her move. She didn't go after the gun, but she went after the neck. Snapping its neck wouldn't kill it, but it would stun it for a few seconds, it would giver her a long enough head start. She snapped the neck as hard as she could, and wiggled out from underneath him, and took off running, no even a hundred feet later, the Strigoi was after her. "Shit" she said running quicker, she was thankful for all of her running.

She rounded the corner, and took off down the alley way that Tenshi was in. She smiled she was almost to her place, with the Strigoi on her heels, but as fate would have it she tripped, and the Strigoi grabbed her just before she hit the cement, and took a bite in her neck drinking some of her blood. She let out a scream, that even a her mother would be proud of. She hopped Tenshi would hurry, because she was starting to feel the effects of the Strigoi endorphines.

Tenshi was attacked by three Strigoi when he heard a scream.
"Wait, are you guys being smart?" All three jumped him, and Tenshi merely made them think that they had caught him with compulsion.
"'Scuse me, damsel-in-distress waiting and all that. Dear lord, I was around when that joke was invented." He rushed into the mall to find Dani being bitten.
"Hey! Ugly!" He point his revolver at the Strigoi. The Strigoi continued biting.
"Oh, come on, I'm Moroi!" Sighing, he shot it off of Dani. The thing got up and attacked Tenshi.
"You guys have no intelligence whatsoever." With a lightning quick katana strike, the beast was dead.
"Teach you to mess with my friend." Apparently, his compulsion wore off, and the three Strigoi from the alleyway were back.
"Crap, I gotta get Dani outta here... I got it!" He threw a flashbang grenade at the three and used compulsion to make them kill one another.
"Losers." He rushed over and lifted Dani up.
"Need a hospital?"

Dani was horrified by what was happening, when Tenshi came to her rescue, in her right mind she would have been happy, but with the bite of the Strigoi in her blood she was mad, she wanted more. Strigoi endorphin's where very strong, it was something that no person could resist if bitten or well at-least not Dhampir or Moroi, she wasn't to sure about humans though. When the fighting was all over she gave Tenshi a lopsided grin and said "Nope" referring to a hospital. They would ask to many questions, if she went home her mother would ask even more questions.

Dani was glad she didn't have to stand on her own to feet, she might have fallen over. Her head wasn't thinking very straight, she didn't know what she needed to do. She was just upset that the Strigoi had been killed, but some where inside of her she was thankful that she wasn't turned Strigoi. Dani didn't want to become anything unnatural and one of those things. She really was thankful, but could she get her current mind to say so. "Thank you" she muttered out to him. She was woozy from the loss of blood. "Take me some where other than my parents hotel, they ask too many questions" she managed to get out before she passed out.

Tenshi sighed. Since when was he in the business of saving people? What is he now? A vampiric Superman? He sighed and began walking toward a friend of his's office. The guy was a Moroi doctor and specialized in their treatment. He kicked open the door.
"Oh Jack~ I have a patient for you~" He set Dani upon one of the operating tables, and his friend walked out from his office.
"For Pete's sake, Tenshi, why'd you have to kick the door in?"
"What? My hands were full. Anyways, she got bit by a Strigoi. Anything for that?"
"Rest, but I'll check for any other injuries. Nice catch by the way."
"Shut up, Jack, I'll go stand guard." He walked outside and waited for more Strigoi.

It felt like Dani had been out for hours, and maybe she had been, she lost all sense of time after she passed out. For all she knew it could have been a week and her mother was out looking for her. Dani was afraid to open her eyes, she couldn't remember much other then telling Tenshi not to take her home, which was what she hopped he didn't do. She felt the pressure of a soft cotton fiber blanket over her body, but she couldn't tell what she was laying on. Dani opened her eyes to see she was laying on a bed, but it wasn't a bed more like an operation table, type of deal. She wanted to scream, but she didn't.

She sat up immediately, and looked around the room, trying to figure out where she was. She didn't hear anyone else in the room with her, but her brain was a little bit fuzzy. She hear a noise, and she jumped 20 feet into the air, and ran and crouched in a corner. That wasn't like her at all, but she was in a strange place, and someone she didn't know walked in the door. She stayed behind the blanket, even though it didn't provide much protection from a Strigoi. Dani spoke in a barely whisper "Where am i and where is Tenshi" someone would have to have very sensitive hearing to hear what she said, or be very close to her to hear her. She was afraid, for the first time in her life she was afraid, she wasn't afraid of the Strigoi, she was trained for that, she wasn't trained for being bitten and then waking up in a strange place.

Tenshi heard Dani wake up and held in the desire to laugh. Jack was not a people person and would just stutter his way into call Tenshi in.
"W-well, y-you're in m-my office... TENSHI!" He smiled and walked in.
"Morning, sunshine, how was your nap? I didn't take you to your parents yet, and Jack here patched you up. It should heal by nightime. Suprisingly, the Strigoi did not get much of a bite out of you. Oh, I met your mother via your cellphone. Wow, what a lady. That was sarcasm. Anywho, she was worried that I was a Strigoi I assured her I wasn't and said that she would be home by nightfall. Oof, you're in for it, kid."

Dani looked at the man who called for Tenshi, she was glad he was still around, for one thing. Dani was also mortified that, she had been bitten by a Strigoi, and she enjoyed it. She stood up slowly, and made her way over to where Tenshi was, she was glad he had been around last night, other wise she would be a goner. "Thank you Jack" she said in a soft tone. She really didn't want to go home, she knew she would be ripped a new one. Dani turned her attention to Tenshi and said "Thank you. I don't remember if i told you that." She was a little out of it still.

"My Mom?" she questioned "Whendidshecallohmani'msodead." She ran out in an uncomprehending stream. "How did you answer my phone" she asked him. She wasn't even aware he had her phone. She sat down again and looked at her shoes, she stole the shoes from the department store. So not only was she dead when she go home, but she also stole the shoes from the store, and lost her converses. She didn't want to go home, she didn't want to deal with her mom.

As a mind reader and a reader of people in general, Tenshi could tell that her Mom would have her head. Now, she was still not old enough to live alone(well, he did not exactly know her age but still), and Tenshi moves too much.
"Well, I can't leave you here, I can't take you with me, and I don't want you to deal with anymore Strigoi without my help. I'll go with you and talk to your mom." He had been bitten by a Strigoi once. The only thing that kept him concious was stabbing himself in the arm with a piece of glass. The adrenaline rush was enough for Tenshi to end his attacker.

Dani was really glad for Tenshi being there, she didn't know how she could repay him for saving her life. She smiled up to him, yes it was a forced smile, but she was ok, or at least she thought she was. She knew she wasn't going to turn into strigoi anytime soon, but she didn't like the fact that she let him get that close to her. She knew she needed to practice more to get better at fighting. She may have to take Tenshi up on learning to fight from him.

"Oh you don't have to go with me, you can just drop me off at the door" she said to him in shock at him suggesting to go with her to talk to her mom. She wasn't thinking about anything in particular other then leaving the moment he left, but she decided he might come back and check up on her, so that was going to be a bad idea. She would have to talk to her mom and dad, that was inevitable.

[Tenshi Sekiyo]

Tenshi would be a kid's worst nightmare. He can literally read their mind.
"If you're thinking about leaving after I drop you off, it'll just make things worse. She'll just have more reasons to bite your head off. Pun intended." He wondered where his gun went. It was probably gone now. He sighed and motioned for Dani to follow him.
"Come on, my car's out front." He began walking out the door.
"Oh, see ya, Jack. I'll wire the money into one of your accounts."

Dani dropped the blanket, and looked at him and said "I wouldn't dream of leaving" she rolled her eyes and looked at him. She was feeling a little bit better, not much, but a little bit. She walked towards tenshi and his car. She felt something hard and and metal against her back, she still had the gun she was given last night. "Tenshi you might want this back." she said pulling the gun out of her pants, and held it out.

She walked outside and stood by the car waiting for Tenshi. She was upset, and she really didn't want to go home with her parents. She didn't think she just started running. She didn't know where she was going she didn't care she just took off, she knew that she wouldn't make it far when Tenshi figured out she left, he also had a car, and she didn't.
